She Bought A Bakery Pt 2 - The Adelaide Report.
The driver asked me if he could take a call.
I said of course.
“Inshallah,” he said. Was it to me, to his caller, who knows?
Wait, if he was about to take a call now, then who has he been talking to the whole time?
The morning chill feels different when you’re heading to the airport to catch a 6.30am, when you’re not delivering bread.
After chatting with Diem electronically in Fukuoka last month, I jokingly said ‘hey, one of these days, if Chika and Hana are going away to scout camp, I could go and shoot the bakery for you’.
She cocked her head sideways and said, yea, I don’t mind flying you over, pay you a day rate to document Butter.
Inshallah.
Little did I know Chika and Hana had scout camp four weeks later, in February.
I texted Diem, saying ‘How about that job?’
She came back within hours, ‘yup discussed with Paul, all good to go’.
Inshallah.
I landed around 7.45am, Diem picked me up in her Jimny, and we headed straight to Butter.
So, in case you’re wondering, the photos in the last post were mine.
Fresh from Saturday.
